Hume Lake 2010

Four nights at Hume + 2 nights at Cedar Grove + 2 nights at Stoney Creek = Exhaustive fun! Cousin Love The water was freezing at Sandy Cove! He enjoyed playing in the dirt... a lot . Benjamin loves his Papa Fishing with Daddy He wasn't afraid to touch it...such a boy! He rode his bike all day, everyday. A waterfall down in the King's Canyon Hiking with Daddy...best seat in the house! Boy's Club Silly Benjamin! I did a lot of Benjamin's laundry on this trip...the old school way! His first snowball...in June!  Now and then, one year ago...he is growing up so fast.

Oh Boy!

Now I am really outnumbered, because it looks like Benjamin is going to have a little brother! I am so excited to see what kind of special bond will develop between the two of them. I can only hope that it is as strong as the one that  Nathan has with his two brothers. Of course, I'm also thrilled that I don't have to change the nursery or buy a bunch of new stuff. Poor baby...his life is already doomed to hand-me downs! Okay, maybe I'll buy him a few new things to call his own, but just a few. I'm not going to go crazy or anything. Oh, who am I kidding?? I can't resist buying baby clothes, whether they're needed or not! We can't wait to meet you, sweetheart.

Happiness

So Monday we head to the mountains for a glorious 10 day vacation. The first half will be spent at one of our most favorite places, Hume Lake, and the other half is up in the air. Maybe down in King's Canyon, maybe up at Stoney Creek...wherever we can find a spot! We are looking forward to several days of sun bathing by the lake, cozying up to the fire, competing in rounds of cards, and of course the biking, fishing, and napping. Lots of napping. :) As much as I am looking forward to this trip, I am already anticipating the day after we get back. That's the day that we get to see our little peanut on the ultrasound screen, hopefully looking a little more baby-like than the blob I saw a couple weeks ago. :) Right now, there is so much to look forward to, I can hardly stand it! This is a good place to be in life. Actually, it's a great place.

January 2, 2011

That's my due date for our newest bundle of joy! January 1st would be cool, mostly because his or her birthday would be 1-1-11, but also because it's New Year's Day, which also happens to be my mother-in-law's birthday! December 31st would be good also, for the whole tax write-off thing. :) However, this baby is not allowed to come anytime before December 26th. I do not want a Christmas baby, because who wants to be in the hospital on Christmas? Among other things, I'd totally miss out on my homemade cinnamon rolls! Guess we'll just have to see what God decides, right? But my thought is, let's just leave December 25th as Jesus' birthday. That way we don't lose our focus on the real meaning of Christmas. Think He'll buy that? :) So to back up a bit, Nathan and I found out we were pregnant on Mother's Day, which was pretty special. We announced the news to the family about a week later and after the first ultrasound, spilled the beans to our...
